Managed Care Environments
Who will actively manage the care of dual disorder clients? If an entity is developed that will manage dual disorder treatment, where will this fit? Will the individual divisions of addiction treatment and mental health treatment oversee such an entity? If so, it is likely that this entity will be so burdened with double and often conflicting bureaucratic requirements that it will not function. If neither mental health nor addictions supervises this new dual disorder entity, who will?
Clearly, the current division of addictions and mental health is inefficient and problematic in terms of information, funding, legal issues, training, and clinical structures. Would it be too radical to propose that the primary entity must be dually competent and that current divisions of mental health and addiction become subdivisions?

The woes of financial operators should not be overlooked, of course. But thus far, the Cassandras on Wall Street, in the press and on the political campaign trails have had less to be glum about than they expected—or perhaps they had hoped for.
This is not to say that we are not at risk of encountering turbulence. Personally, I think the cruising speed of the U.S. economy has slowed considerably, and it is likely to remain subpar for the current and following quarter. Without getting into specific numbers, I will tell you that my growth forecast is one of the more bearish among FOMC members. For someone like me, who has served on corporate boards and run a private company, it is not difficult to imagine managers being cautioned by their directors and consultants to batten down their hatches and run ever tighter ships at a time of gloomy news stories, dire predictions by respectable analysts and alarming rhetoric from public officials. While there is a risk the U.S. economy might sputter, I do not believe that mighty engine will stall. I have tremendous Fast Forex Profits faith in the ability of the women and men who operate the private sector to overcome obstacles placed before them and keep the pistons of the economy pumping. You can lose a lot of money betting against the recuperative power of the American economy.

In this paper we present a real-time obstacle avoidance algorithm using a Bayesian neural network for a laser based medicare power wheelchairs system. The raw laser data is modified to accommodate the wheelchair dimensions, allowing the free-space to be determined accurately in real-time. Data acquisition is performed to collect the patterns required for training the neural network. A Bayesian frame work is applied to determine the optimal neural network structure for the training data. This neural network is trained under the supervision of the Bayesian rule and handicap scooters the obstacle avoidance task is then implemented for the wheelchair system. Initial results suggest this approach provides an effective solution for autonomous tasks, suggesting Bayesian neural networks may be useful for wider assistive technology applications

I am also in no way advocating an interventionist approach to maternity and childbirth. Mother nature knows her ways better than we do.
individuals have to realize that doctors and nurses are not the sole responsible for the high rate of intervention in obstetric today. How many times did I have to calm down women who demanded to be induced one month in advance because they were tired of being pregnant? I still can’t get over the time a husband almost jumped at us saying: “My wife has been having contractions every five minutes for over an hour. Do something!” A nurse later asked me: “Didn’t he read the “brochure?” that first infants take usually twelve of hours to be born.
On the other hand, I am happy that such aberration as caesareans on demand have not found many followers in the medical community.
